WORLD RENOWNED ARTISTS PAY HOMAGE TO GALAXYâ??S GREATEST COMICâ?¦

Itâ??s going to be a Merry Dreddmas in London this December as Playlounge & Rebellion in conjunction with Puma present Zarjaz!, an exhibition of original artwork celebrating classic characters from the pages of 2000 AD.

Playlounge, the innovative toyshop in Londonâ??s Beak Street, have assembled over forty of the biggest names in art and design to create their own interpretations of 2000 AD characters. Their work will be on show at 11 Shorts Gardens in Seven Dials, London WC2 from 10th December 2005 through to the 10th January 2006.

Artists contributing to Zarjaz! include, Bounty Hunter, James Jarvis, Pete Fowler and the Lego Design team!

Leading sports/lifestyle brand Puma will produce five limited edition (100 run only) T-shirts designed by some of the participating artists. These are exclusive to Zarjaz! and only available at the exhibition space.

Zarjaz! will be open Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 6:30pm and is free of charge, so pay us a visit and see your favourite characters portrayed in ways youâ??ve never imagined!

James Jarvis:

Inspired by classic cartoons like Tintin and Popeye, the British illustrator JAMES JARVIS has created his own three-dimensional casts of characters as the World of Pain and In-Crowd plastic toys. James is also one of the main designers for the legendary SILAS clothing. Mr Jarvis is due to release his next comic opus Vortigan's Machine in the new year.

Will Sweeney:

Will Sweeney was born in 1973, in London, to arty parents. He grew up in Oxford on a diet of Dr. Who, 2000AD and The Cramps. He has been working for SILAS & Amos Toys & toured the Zongamin band in 2003-4. Will is currently working on the next installment of his comic book GREENFUZZ.

FOS:

Owner of the deadliest skateboard company known to man HEROIN Skateboards. Fos is currently the mayor of New Cross & never sleeps... Keep an eye out for the new Heroin DVD Live From Antarctica being released towards the end of 2005.

Pete Fowler:

Pete Fowler is best known for his artwork for the band Super Furry Animals. He has also done a number of other projects in the UK and Japan, such as television adverts (Kia Picanto) Pete also made a great impression his beautifully eclectic designer vinyl series known as Monsterism.

TADO:

Hailing from Sheffield, Mike & Katie Tado are currently running riot in the world of design with various projects under their belts, Tado have just released their very own series of plush toys known as FORTUNE PORK!
