London: April 30, 1987: Eddie MacPhail, manager of superhero popstar Zenith, is watching a breakfast TV programme about a new book “Flying High” about the 60’s super-heroes. On the show are guests Ruby Fox, formerly known as Voltage, a member of 60’s celebrity superhero gang Cloud 9, explaining that their superpowers were the results of experimental drug treatments, and Zenith, the world’s only active superhuman, talking about his new single “Heaven Can’t Wait,” currently at No.3 in the charts. Zenith crashes into the apartment through the window, drunk & dazed from a heavy night’s partying. The show is evidently not being broadcast live. Zenith’s super-powers rely upon bio-cycles: May 29 will be his lowest point meaning that he cannot attend an album promotion scheduled for that day in Glasgow. The headline of that day notes that there is to be a General Election on June 11.
