4: Mandala: Shadows & Reflections - 2000AD Annual 1990

London: December 23, 1967: Mandala is floating down Regent Street, reflecting on a recent argument with Voltage over The Plan. Feeling loney and isolated from his peers, he stops to talk to a couple of humans when he is suddenly interrupted by a giant rabbit in a tailsuit with a pocket watch, sharp fangs and frothing, foamy drool. Following it he meets rabid versions of the rest of the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ characters. He’s then attacked by the Grim Reaper, a giant skull-candle and Springheeled Jack. Mandala realises what is going on, and breaks out of the hallucination - coming face to face with the two humans he had approached before - Shadowmen agents who were trying to take him out. He knocks them unconscious with a multicoloured energy blast and continues on his way.
22 years later, Peter St John passes a tramp in the street - one of the two men who had attacked him. Peter tosses the man a coin.
