GRAHAM NOLAN
Graham Nolan is a professional cartoonist with 20 years of extensive experience in the comic-book and comic-strip business. He worked for Marvel Comics and DC Comics, illustrating the adventures of well-known characters such as Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men, Wolverine and many others. For six years he was a senior Batman illustrator for DC, where he designed and co-created BANE, a Batman villain of the '90s who appeared in the movie Batman and Robin.
Currently he illustrates two classic adventure strips for King Features Syndicate...REX MORGAN, M.D., and THE PHANTOM (sunday).
Nolan mentions Roy Crane, Frank Robbins, Milt Canniff, John Romita and Alex Toth among others as the artists that have inspired and influenced his career.
Prior to his comic-industry career, he worked in advertising, developing creative campaigns; in newspaper production at "Florida Today"; and on various projects as a freelancer.
Born in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., Nolan grew up on Long Island. After his father retired, he moved with his family to Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., where he went to a nearby college for a couple of years before attending the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art.
