 DATELINE
Year 810 of the Pan-Species Accord

 SOUNDBITE
"I'm a thousand years young, I've got a bod built for high-speed sin, and there's a whole universe out there which hasn't met me - so let's go!"

 TRADEMARK
Durham Red possesses fangs and requires a daily intake of blood, but is unaffected by the traditional banes of supernatural vampires. Neither sunlight nor crosses can harm her, and she just loves garlic

 PARTNERS
Judas Harrow is a mutant who worshipped the cult of Saint Scarlet. He revived Durham from her suspended animation but soon discovered the real Red bore little resemblance to the legend. Matteus Godolkin is a human warrior trained to destroy the followers of Saint Scarlet. To him Durham is the ultimate blasphemy. He would kill her in an instant but he wrongly believes he is in her thrall after she sucked his blood. Now Godolkin is Red's slave, even more devoted to her than Harrow

 BACKSTORY
Durham Red grew up in the Milton Keynes mutant ghetto on Earth in the 22nd Century. Even among her peers she was an outcast because of her unique genetic mutation: vampirism. She used her special talent to escape the ghetto by joining the Search/Destroy Agency as a bounty hunter, a Strontium Bitch. But after decades of killing to survive while watching her friends and lovers die, Durham grew tired of living. She put herself in suspended animation...

Two centuries after Durham began her long slumber, the galaxy was consumed by war between humans and mutants. But neither side could win and a long era of barbarism began. Eventually, the Pan-Species Accord was founded, creating a raw federation of worlds. Humans were the senior partners with mutants grudgingly admitted. But the old enmity remained, waiting to explode into war again...

Durham Red woke after more than 1200 years to find herself worshipped as a saint by mutants, while humans branded her a blasphemy. News of her "resurrection" began a new wave of fighting between the two sides. Durham intervened to stop the war escalating, but refused to become mutantkind's living messiah. Instead she is exploring the universe with two unlikely companions
