Axis Mundi: Alternative 23: Maximan addresses the crowd with a disjointed and erratic speech, saying that he has been in isolation for 20 years and is unaccustomed to speaking with so many people. In the crowd below, Zenith meets his Alternate 300 counterpart: Vertex looks identical to Zenith except for ‘V’ symbols rather then ‘Z’s on his clothes. However, he is infinitely more cheerful and enthusiastic. Maximan goes on to explain that the different Alternatives will be in Alignment in one month, making the Omnihedron: “A vast, that is to say, incomprehensible crystal structure. A superdimensional geometry composed not of lines and angles but of continuums.”
The Lloigor have been waiting for this Alignment, and in preparation for it they have attacked and occupied Alternatives 257 and 666. He introduces Ben, a superhuman who escaped from 666.
