Paraphrased from ‘Seizing the Fire’ by Dr Michael Peyne (Unpublished): Peyne reminisces about the day that the war started. It was July 4th, 1992 and he was watching television with Shockwave and Blaze. He was watching the news - which was about the rise of the Horus group - when the girls changed the channel telepathically to ‘Top of the Pops,’ where Archie was fronting an acid house act. Next came Ruby Fox with some ’60s psychedelia, followed by Zenith’s rock band. The child on Blaze’s knee pointed at Zenith on the screen: “Dad! Dad! Dad!” Peyne wishes he’d killed the kid while there was still a chance.
Washington DC: July 4th, 1992: The new US President is concerned about Horus’ powers: he is advised that they are capable of taking over the world. Reminded that US agents ‘The Shadowmen’ killed two superhumans in 1968, he gives the order to take the necessary action to neutralise the super human threat.
