5: State of the Union - 2000AD prog 796

Paraphrased from ‘Seizing the Fire’ by Dr Michael Peyne (Unpublished): Peyne continues his description of the events of the day: Horus killed the US President, destroying the White House, the Pentagon and Fort Knox. They issued a statement saying that they could no longer trust humans to run the planet: “As of today, we are assuming guardianship of the planet.”
Meanwhile, in the House of Commons, the UK government were arguing about what to do in this situation. One MP, who looked not unlike former Labour leader Neil Kinnock, pointed out that the Prime Minister is a superhuman and called into question St John’s loyalty to the human race.
Peter, Zenith and Archie went to face Horus. Zenith was complaining that people were burning his records because of them, while Archie was mainly just giving out random phrases such as: “Get with the groove.” Peter told Horus to stop before it gets out of control, asking them if they’re going to have to start throwing buildings at each other to solve their differences. Lux told them that they’re not sadists and that they’ll make it quick. Then the building exploded into swirling psychedelic colours.
