Epilogue - 2000AD prog 806
London: July 9, 1992: As Peter puts the glass pyramid inside his desk drawer, Zenith comments on
the Labour Party’s rising popularity, to which the PM replies: “Oh, I don’t know Zenith. I rather like Downing
Street.”
London: July 13, 1992: Eddie is trying to get Zenith ready for a new single release party, but the pop star
isn’t showing much interest, and Archie is playing rave music too loud. He turns on the TV news and learns that the
Labour leader John Smith has tragically died of a heart attack, only 20 days before the coming General Election.
St John’s statement confirms that the election will go ahead as planned.
London: July 24, 1992: another showbiz party in Zenith’s honour. However Zenith has become fed up with
pop music: “I’m 24, Eddie. I can’t get a Young Person’s Railcard any more. It’s time for something new, I reckon.”
He learns from the taxi driver on his way home that the Conservatives have won the election. Peter St John has
promised a radical new direction for his party and Great Britain.
