Holly is a Highflyer, a born survivor who makes a dangerous living trading information and salvage to the various warring gangs of Uptown. She grew up in the aerial maze of Uptown, and she has only one motivation: self-preservation.
Eve is a member of Project Ararat, a high-tech survival enclave hidden in the Rocky Mountains, dedicated to using the knowledge and technology they have carefully preserved to rebuild a new and better world from the flooded ruins of the old one. BACKSTORY
A massive environmental catastrophe known only as the Big Rain has caused a dramatic rise in the global sea-level, transforming Manhattan into an incredible archipelago of flooded street-canyons and skyscraper islands. The city has been divided into different territories, each controlled by warring scavenger tribes atop the highest buildings. This savage world is known as Uptown. Far below is Downtown, an even more dark and dangerous maze of swamps and street-canyons inhabited by cannibal tribes and carnivorous mutants.
