If your appetite for the adventures of the travelling Timelord have been whetted by the BBC's recent successful reinvention, then now you can go back to the very start and witness his first appearance as BBC DVD is releasing Doctor Who: The Beginning as a three-disc boxed set on 30 January 2006, featuring the first three broadcasted stories!

Starring William Hartnell as the Doctor, The Beginning boxset includes the pilot series An Unearthly Child, which introduces the TARDIS and the Doctor's granddaughter Susan, as well as the follow-up stories The Daleks and The Edge of Destruction. Alongside these episodes, the discs are stuffed with extra features, including commentaries, photo galleries, featurettes as well as a look inside the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
