• 1960: As a boy, apparently possessed by the spirit of a mummified Emmanuel Konterman (or whatever was inside him) in the cellar of an abandoned house in the east end of London. It was after this event he took the name Ethan Kostabi, which has the same initials as Emmanuel Konterman.
• 1970: his pregnant girlfriend apparently committed suicide. Written in her blood on the wall of the crime scene was the name 'Nyarlahotep'.
• 2003: Described by William McKenzie as 'mair auld than ye can believe'.
• 2005: Visits the Vatican after the Nox Case and blackmails them into agreeing not to send any more Hidden Inquisition hit squads to attempt to assassinate Jennifer Simmons. As levarage he uses ancient Aramaic scroll fragments recovered from the Dead Sea regions which he indicates would result in most of the New Testament being rewritten, should he make them public. He also threatens the life of the Pope.
• The priest that Kostabi meets refers to him as 'Figlio Del Diavolo' ['Son of the Devil'], to which Ethan replies 'Not quite.' The priest also voices the theory that Kostabi should not be able to trespass on holy ground, but Ethan enigmatically asserts that he should be viewed as 'almost a member of the family ... or at least a very old friend.'
• He once met Michaelangelo, prior to his completion of the decoration of the Sistine Chapel, which would place the meeting sometime from 1508 to 1512. This suggests that the entity which possessed the young David Smith (prior to his taking the name Ethan Kostabi) is ancient, and also the possibility that Emmanuel Konterman was one of many host bodies.

As a crowd of torch-wielding villagers break down the door, a naked humanoid, fresh from the tank, is seen strangling a man. It escapes through a window and passes a sign with "Ravne" written on it. Presumably, this is where Ravne names himself.
